UD, Rally and Other Things

In May 2012 Eepie earned her first pass in UD.  This was more exciting for her handler/trainer than it was for Eepie.  She took it in her stride.  I was over the moon!!

The occasion was the ACT State Obedience Titles which is a two day trial.

On Day 1 she won UD but didn't qualify, on Day 2, she came second to her friend and club-mate Kilian the mini-Schnauzer and qualified - to earn a medal and her very first UD "card".

Our next Obedience trials are Queanbeyan, Shoalhaven and Mudgee - and we are thinking of going to the Group 5 (Working Dog) trial in Sydney later next month.  Go, Eepie!

Rally Progress.........

In the background we have been working on our Rally Novice title. After training for and trialling at UD level, it is very odd going back to working on lead and doing the easy exercises required at Novice level.

On Saturday 23 June, Eepie earned her Rally Novice title at BDOC under local judge, John Green.  She came second with 98 points.  Way to go Eepie!!

She's now, officially, Ch Ieper-Rilla vd Arkiv CDX, RN.

And we're now working through a shoulder injury - nothing serious, but we need to be careful to "heal, stretch, strengthen" before we get back to full UD work.

Get Better Soon, darling Eepie!!!

Trial Blues

Trialling season has begun and we seem to be doing OK in Open.

On Saturday Ms Eep won Open with 196.  Two weeks earlier she won Open with 194.

Here she is on Saturday at Tuggeranong showing off her nice blue ribbon.

And here's a pic of Eepie wearing her beautiful collar sent to us by her Sponsor.  Thanks, Jo! Its a beautiful collar for a beautiful, talented girl.

2012.......here we come!

2011 was another good year. Eepie was awarded the Forsvar Trophy for the highest scoring Open Dog at the Belconnen Dog Obedience Club.  She earned her Open title with three straight wins and had couple of nice passes as well - the Forsvar trophy is the fourth perpetual trophy with her name engraved on it.

Nice Work, Eepie!!!

And she earned her Bronze and Silver Dunbar Awards - for achievement in conformation and obedience trials.  There were three awarded last year and Eepie came home with two of them!!

And now its 2012 and our trial season is underway.  So far in UD we have earned two second placings (NQ) and two third placings (NQ) - our judges have given us lots of good feedback, i have made some classic blunders and we have had a bit of bad luck - its all part of the 'game'.............

Go gettem, Eepie, my beautiful girl!!
